I’ve spent half my life residing in different locations in North America, and been blessed to explore many other regions and countries across the continent. I’m excited to share some of my favorite experiences and destinations to help you get the most out of your visit to this special part of the world.
The North American continent is a rich tapestry of cultures, landscapes, and histories where you can experience the wild and the sophisticated, the ancient and the ultra-modern. Whether you’re chasing the northern lights in Alaska, speaking French in Montreal, or road-tripping along Route 66, this continent is an endless source of inspiration and adventure.

Fun fact about North America
- North America contains the longest international border, between the United States and Canada – over 5, 525 miles (8,891 kilometers)!
- The largest freshwater lake in the world is Lake Superior, located on the border of both countries.
- North America has more lakes than any other continent – Canada alone has over 2 million!
- The state of Montana in the United States has more cattle than people: about 2.12 million cattle, which is 2 heads of cattle for each resident.
- The oldest pizzaria in the continent, Lombardis, opened in New York City in 1905 and is still serving delicious pies every day.
- George Washington, the first President of the United States, was not the first President to live in the White House in Washington, DC. Construction wasn’t completed until 1800, when President John Adams, second President was in office, and he was the first Presidential resident.
- Across North America there are many unique National and State Parks to visit: the United States presently has 63 National Parks and Canada has 37 National Parks plus an additional 11 National Park Reserves. Countless opportunities to experience the outdoors!
